Remember when Kamala Harris was extolling electric school buses?

Fortunately nobody was injured when this one caught fire, but sooner or later there will be a tragedy:

A school bus was destroyed by a fire in Ontario Monday morning, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded at 8:32 a.m. to the scene on Earls Road in Huntsville.

Police said all students were evacuated from the bus and taken to their schools by other buses.

No injuries were reported among any of the students or the driver.

It was reported that children has smelled burning on the bus, which led the driver to evacuate.

Every report seems to absolve the battery – “the fire’s cause remains unknown, but the bus’ battery is not believed to be involved.” is a statement widely reported.

This is of course nonsense. There has been no time to find out what the cause was, as they admit, so how do they know the battery was not at fault.

Either way, such claims are meaningless and dangerous. The cause of ignition is irrelevant – once the bus on fire, it is the battery which turns it into a death trap.
