BBC to review bias in climate change coverage

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

The BBC’s Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee will investigate the BBC’s reporting of climate change, following the latest scandal of their fraudulent doctoring of Trump’s speech:

Corporation will conduct ‘thematic review’ of coverage after internal dossier reveals claims of serious bias

The BBC has come under pressure this week over an internal dossier demonstrating serious apparent bias in the corporation’s reporting.

Michael Prescott, a former independent adviser to the BBC’s editorial guidelines and standards board, highlighted the “doctoring” of a speech by Donald Trump, bias in BBC Arabic’s reporting on Gaza and a rogue LGBT+ reporting unit censoring coverage of the trans debate.

Now, The Telegraph can reveal that the BBC will conduct a “thematic review” of its coverage of climate change and “energy policy in the UK” in the light of further claims of bias.

Here we examine the broadcaster’s questionable coverage.

  • Full story here.
  •
  • It appears that the decision to review has been made by the EGSC, not Tim Davie. It remains to be seen just how independent the review will be, but experience suggests it won’t be the usual ECU whitewash.

Pleased to say that several of the examples picked by the Telegraph are from my complaints:

  • False claim that polar bears are in decline
  • Human-induced warming – the BBC claim that human-induced climate change made recent extreme heat in the US south-west, Mexico and Central America around 35 times more likely
  • Weather alarmism – a weather report wrongly claimed the Bologna floods in Italy had seen “half the annual rainfall” in 36 hours
  • Climate Editor misleading claims – Justin Rowlatt’s fake Panorama documentary about extreme weather.
