Even Blair has turned on Starmer and Miliband’s Net Zero zealotry.

The Telegraph report:

Sir Tony Blair has attacked Sir Keir Starmer’s net zero plans and called for a radical reset of the Government’s green agenda.

The former prime minister said it was wrong that people were “being asked to make financial sacrifices and changes in lifestyle when they know that their impact on global emissions is minimal”.

In a significant intervention, he said politicians must face “inconvenient facts” showing that any strategy based on phasing out fossil fuels was “doomed to fail”.

Sir Tony has been advising Sir Keir in an informal capacity since Labour’s landslide election win last year.

It comes as Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary, faces mounting questions about his green strategy a day after Spain and Portugal were plunged into a nationwide power cut blamed by experts on a reliance on renewable energy.

It’s ironic because Blair was at the forefront of pushing the Climate Change Act from the start.

But in those days, nobody could have forecast that the bill for subsidising would top £100 billion by the end of this year.

Nor that the rest of the world would stick two fingers up at the idiot Miliband’s attempt to ditch fossil fuels.

Unfortunately, it’s all too little, too late from the Blair creature.
