Taxpayers to cop higher power prices if foreign bid for wind farm succeeds

Sky News Australia

Sky News host Peta Credlin says a Belgian company looking to buy a Victorian coastal wind farm could receive taxpayer subsidies if their bid succeeds.

“Another foreign company today is about to muscle in on more taxpayer subsidy billions, in Victoria, of course, a wind farm off the Victorian coast, it’s a Belgian mob this time that are bidding to get in and they will then sell everything off to the Japanese,” Ms Credlin said.

“They get all the taxpayer subsidies of course we’d cop all the extra prices for the power and all the profits then head offshore, that’s not a great deal.”
