LAS VEGAS SUFFERS COLDEST NOVEMBER 8TH IN RECORDED HISTORY, BREAKING 1946’S BENCHMARK

The Las Vegas Valley set a new all-time daily cold record Sunday, November 8, just days after registering a record high — a scenario long-predicted by a Grand Solar Minimum (see “Swing between Extremes“).

The National Weather Service Las Vegas logged a maximum temperature of just 54F (12.2C) on Sunday, a reading 1F lower than the previous “cold high” record for the date — the 55F (12.8C) set back in 1946 (solar minimum of cycle 17).

Saturday also saw 4 inches (10.2 cm) of snow on Mount Charleston (see featured image), with more reportedly falling Sunday. Nearby Reno, Nevada actually broke multiple 100-year-old daily cold records:

Las Vegas’ recent flip-flopping from record heat to record cold can’t simply be passed-off as “climate change” — this one size fits all approach makes no sense, and is only uttered by people who have no idea what they’re talking about.

Objective scientific research reveals the historically low solar activity we’re currently receiving is behind the phenomenon. During Solar Minimum, the jet stream’s usual Zonal flow (a west–east direction) effectively breaks down and reverts to more of a Meridional flow (a north-south direction) — this “breakdown” is exaggerated further during a GRAND Solar Minimum (GSM).

The Changing Jet Stream and Global Cooling

There is mounting evidence (see below) to suggest the Sun is slipping into its next GSM cycle now. The impact on Earth’s climate will be one of violent swings between extremes — for example, an intense burst of heat can linger in one area while a teeth-chattering chill can dominate nearby — and then the regions will “switch”. It is this unpredictable chopping and changing that will bring about the failure of our fragile modern food production systems: crops will fail, on a large scale, and famine could very quickly ensue.

Overall, Earth’s temperature trends colder during a Grand Solar Minimum. However, not all regions experience the chill. As with the previous GSM (the Maunder Minimum 1645-1715), areas such as the Arctic, Alaska, and S. Greenland/N. Atlantic actually warmed during bouts of otherwise “global” cooling — NASA reveals the setup in their Maunder Minimum temperature reconstruction map:

Temp change between 1780 (a year of normal solar activity) and 1680 (a year within the depths of the Maunder Minimum) — NASA.

This is exactly what we’re seeing today.

And NOTHING suggests this modern GSM will be any different to the last.

The record-strong 2015/16 El Niño has finally passed, and we are now in La Niña (cooling) territory — expect a one-way -although decidedly bumpy- trend to the colder from here on in.

Grand Solar Minimum and the Swing Between Extremes

With regards to Las Vegas’ near-term forecast, the below-average temps are expected to climb a notch or two as the week progresses, but highs will remain below the 60s that Vegas is accustomed to at this time of year.

The COLD TIMES are returning, the mid-latitudes are REFREEZING in line with historically low solar activitycloud-nucleating Cosmic Rays, and a meridional jet stream flow.

Both NOAA and NASA appear to agree, if you read between the lines, with NOAA saying we’re entering a ‘full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum in the late-2020s, and NASA seeing this upcoming solar cycle (25) as “the weakest of the past 200 years”, with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.

Furthermore, we can’t ignore the slew of new scientific papers stating the immense impact The Beaufort Gyre could have on the Gulf Stream, and therefore the climate overall.
